Tyler Seguin is a professional ice hockey player and the alternate Captain for the Dallas Stars.
Seguin was selected 2nd overall in the 2010 NHL entry draft by the Boston Bruins, and was one of the most anticipated rookies of the last decade. In 2013, Seguin was traded to the Dallas Stars, breaking out as an offensive force in the league, recording his first five-point game and reaching the 30-goal mark in a season in 2014. Seguin is phenomenal with power plays and shows he can be dangerous in all situations, with consistent offensive production.
One of the fastest players in the league, Seguin accelerates through the neutral zone with apt skill, controlling both the puck and the game. With a hard shot and an eye for the net, Seguin put up high offensive numbers in the 2013-14 season, finishing fourth overall in total points scored, and setting a career-high of 37 goals and 84 points in 80 games. A skilled offensive player, adept at scoring goals as well as setting them up, Seguin has become the kind of player one could build a team around. In 2018, Seguin was named to the NHL All-Star Game.
In his time with the Bruins, Seguin became the first teenager since 1989 to record 4 points in a playoff game. Tyler’s consistent performance throughout both the playoffs and the subsequent season helped his team capture the Stanley Cup and led them to the finals the following year. The 2013-14 season saw Seguin traded to the Dallas Stars where the club made an appearance in the playoffs for the first time in six years.
