GRAND PRIZES
There are five (5) Grand Prizes available to be won.
Each Grand Prize consists of one (1) unreleased BioSteel-branded hockey stick currently being developed and manufactured by or on behalf of BioSteel Sports Inc. (the “BioSteel Hockey Stick”).
Five (5) confirmed winners will each receive one (1) BioSteel Hockey Stick.
The current estimated approximate retail value of each Grand Prize is $299 CAD. The total estimated approximate retail value of all five Grand Prizes is $1,495 CAD.
Because the BioSteel Hockey Stick is still in development and is not yet commercially available, its actual retail value may vary depending on its final design, construction, size, specifications and configuration. A winner will not be entitled to receive the difference between the stated approximate retail value and the actual retail value of the Grand Prize.
Each Grand Prize is non-transferable, may not be assigned to another person and is not redeemable for cash.
No additional hockey equipment, protective equipment, accessories, tape, apparel, services or other items are included unless expressly stated by the Sponsor.
-
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AND CONCEPT RENDERINGS
The BioSteel Hockey Stick is currently in development. Its final product name, design, branding, graphics, colours, materials, construction, dimensions, technical specifications and appearance have not yet been finalized.
The final BioSteel Hockey Stick may differ from any concept image, illustration, rendering, photograph, mock-up, description or other representation appearing on Contest banners, displays, websites, advertisements or other promotional materials.
All concept images and renderings are provided for illustrative purposes only.
The Sponsor reserves the right to finalize or modify the product name, design, branding, graphics, colours, materials, construction, specifications and appearance of the BioSteel Hockey Stick during the development and manufacturing process.
Any such modifications will not materially change the essential nature of the Grand Prize or materially reduce its stated approximate retail value.
-
WINNER PREFERENCES AND AVAILABLE SPECIFICATIONS
After being confirmed as a winner, each winner will be given an opportunity to submit their preferred BioSteel Hockey Stick specifications, which may include:
• Size or age category;
• Left- or right-handed orientation;
• Flex;
• Curve;
• Length; and
• Other specifications made available by the Sponsor.
The Sponsor will make reasonable efforts to accommodate each winner’s submitted preferences. However, all size categories, specifications, configurations and options will be determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion and will be subject to final product development, manufacturing capabilities and availability.
The Sponsor does not guarantee that youth, junior, intermediate, senior, adult or any other particular size category will be produced or made available.
Submission of a preferred size, handedness, flex, curve, length or other specification does not guarantee that the requested option will be available or provided.
If a requested option is unavailable, the Sponsor may contact the winner to select from the available options or may provide an available configuration selected after reasonably considering the winner’s submitted preferences.
-
WINNER SELECTION
Following the end of the Contest Period, the Sponsor or its authorized representative will conduct a random draw from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
Five (5) potential winners will be selected.
Each eligible entry will have an equal opportunity to be selected, subject to compliance with these Official Rules.
The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
A selected entrant is not a winner unless and until the entrant has been contacted, has completed all winner-confirmation requirements and has been officially confirmed as a winner by the Sponsor.
-
WINNER NOTIFICATION AND CONFIRMATION
The Sponsor or its authorized representative will attempt to contact each selected entrant using the email address and/or phone number provided with the entrant’s entry.
To be declared a confirmed winner, a selected entrant must:
a. Respond to the Sponsor’s notification within four (4) business days after the notification is sent;
b. Correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered by the Sponsor or its authorized representative;
c. Provide any information reasonably requested by the Sponsor to verify the entrant’s identity, age, residency and eligibility;
d. Sign and return, within the timeframe specified by the Sponsor, a Declaration of Eligibility and Compliance and a Liability/Publicity Release or other documentation reasonably required by the Sponsor; and
e. Otherwise comply with these Official Rules.
A selected entrant may be disqualified if the entrant:
• Cannot be contacted using the information provided;
• Does not respond within the required timeframe;
• Does not correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question;
• Does not complete or return the required documents within the specified timeframe;
• Cannot accept the Grand Prize as awarded;
• Is found to be ineligible; or
• Fails to comply with these Official Rules.
If a selected entrant is disqualified, the Sponsor may randomly select an alternate entrant from the remaining eligible entries. The same winner-confirmation requirements will apply to any alternate selected entrant.
-
WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT
The Sponsor may announce each confirmed winner after the winner has completed all requirements described in these Official Rules.
The announcement may include the winner’s name, city and province or territory of residence, subject to applicable law and the permissions provided in the winner’s Declaration of Eligibility and Compliance and Liability/Publicity Release.
For the purposes of these Official Rules, the “Winner Announcement Date” for each winner means the date on which that winner is officially announced or otherwise formally confirmed in writing by the Sponsor.
-
PRIZE FULFILLMENT AND DELIVERY
The BioSteel Hockey Stick is currently in development and may not be available for immediate delivery when a winner is confirmed.
Each confirmed winner will receive their Grand Prize within ninety (90) days after the applicable Winner Announcement Date.
For an alternate winner selected after the initial winner announcement, the ninety-day delivery period will begin on the date the alternate winner is officially confirmed or announced by the Sponsor.
The Sponsor will contact each confirmed winner to obtain their preferred specifications and any additional information reasonably required to manufacture and deliver the Grand Prize.
Each Grand Prize will be delivered free of charge to the confirmed winner at a valid Canadian residential mailing address provided by the winner. The Sponsor will be responsible for all standard shipping and delivery charges associated with delivering the Grand Prize within Canada.
The winner is responsible for providing complete and accurate delivery information and responding promptly to reasonable communications from the Sponsor.
The Sponsor will not be responsible for a delivery delay caused by:
• Incomplete or inaccurate information supplied by the winner;
• The winner’s failure to respond to the Sponsor;
• The winner’s request to change previously confirmed specifications;
• The inability of a delivery carrier to access the delivery location; or
• Other circumstances caused by or within the reasonable control of the winner.
The Sponsor will not be responsible for additional costs resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the winner, a failed delivery caused by the winner, or a request to redirect or reship a Grand Prize after the initial delivery attempt.
The Sponsor is not responsible for delays occurring after a Grand Prize has been transferred to a delivery carrier, provided that the Sponsor shipped the Grand Prize within the ninety-day fulfillment period.
-
ACCEPTANCE AND USE OF THE GRAND PRIZE
Each winner accepts the Grand Prize subject to the specifications, warnings, instructions, limitations and warranty terms, if any, accompanying the final product.
Each winner is responsible for selecting and using appropriate protective equipment and for ensuring that the BioSteel Hockey Stick is suitable for the winner’s intended use.
The Sponsor is not responsible for damage resulting from normal wear and tear, misuse, unauthorized alteration, improper storage or use inconsistent with product instructions.
Nothing in these Official Rules limits any warranty, statutory right or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
-
PUBLICITY
Where permitted by law, by accepting a Grand Prize, each winner grants the Sponsor and its representatives permission to use the winner’s name, city and province or territory of residence, likeness, image, voice, photograph and any statements provided by the winner regarding the Contest or the Sponsor for advertising, publicity and promotional purposes in any media, without further notice or compensation.
Any such use will be subject to the terms of the winner’s signed Declaration of Eligibility and Compliance and Liability/Publicity Release and applicable law.
-

Entrants may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time using the instructions included in those communications.
Consent to receive marketing communications is not required to enter the Contest and will not affect an entrant’s chances of winning.
-
RELEASE AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, each entrant releases and holds harmless the Sponsor, its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies, service providers and each of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents from claims, damages, losses or liabilities arising out of or relating to:

If there is a dispute regarding the identity of an online entrant, the authorized account holder of the email address used to submit the entry may be considered the entrant, provided that the person satisfies all eligibility requirements.

RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY
The Sponsor may disqualify any entrant who, in the Sponsor’s reasonable determination:
• Violates these Official Rules;
• Attempts to submit more entries than permitted;
• Uses multiple, false or misleading identities;

• Uses automated, scripted, robotic or fraudulent entry methods;
• Acts in an abusive, threatening, disruptive or unsportsmanlike manner;
• Attempts to interfere with another person’s participation; or
• Attempts to undermine the legitimate operation, security, fairness or integrity of the Contest.
Any entry associated with a disqualified entrant may be declared void.
-
RIGHT TO CANCEL, SUSPEND OR MODIFY
Subject to applicable law, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, extend or modify the Contest, in whole or in part, if fraud, technical failure, unauthorized intervention, printing or production errors, human error, a public health event, natural disaster or another circumstance beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control interferes with the security, integrity, fairness or proper administration of the Contest.
If the Contest is cancelled or terminated before the scheduled closing date, the Sponsor may select the potential winners through a random draw from the eligible entries received before the cancellation or termination, where reasonably possible.
Any change to the Contest will be communicated in a manner the Sponsor considers appropriate under the circumstances and will be subject to applicable law.
Nothing in this section relieves the Sponsor of its obligation to award and deliver a Grand Prize to a winner who has already been officially confirmed, except where performance is rendered unlawful or impossible by circumstances beyond the Sponsor’s reasonable control.
-
FRAUD AND MISCONDUCT
Any deliberate attempt to damage a website, interfere with the Contest or undermine its legitimate operation may violate criminal and civil laws.
The Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages and other available remedies from any person responsible for such conduct to the fullest extent permitted by law.
-
DISCREPANCIES AND ERRORS
If there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between these Official Rules and any statement or representation appearing in an advertisement, banner, display, entry form, social media post or other Contest material, these Official Rules will govern.
If the Sponsor discovers an administrative, printing, production, typographical or other error affecting the Contest, the Sponsor may correct the error and take any action reasonably necessary to preserve the integrity and intended operation of the Contest, subject to applicable law.
-

SPONSOR’S DECISIONS
The Sponsor’s decisions regarding eligibility, entries, winner selection, prize specifications, product availability, Contest administration and interpretation of these Official Rules are final and binding, subject to applicable law.
